Lucia Ferri-Martin, PhD
I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Fordham University and my BA in Psychology at New York University. I have completed training positions at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital, and Bellevue Hospital Center working within outpatient psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and substance abuse treatment departments.
Experience
I have been a psychologist in practice since 2010, and opened my private practice in 2012. I was formerly employed as Assistant Mental Health Director at the World Trade Center Environmental Health Center located at Bellevue Hospital where I assisted to coordinate the mental health treatment program as well as supervised staff and provided specialized mental health treatment to the survivors of the 2001 World Trade Center attacks. I continue to specialize in the treatment of PTSD, anxiety, and depression as well as adjustment to new or chronic health conditions.
While completing my training I taught undergraduate courses at Fordham University. I also held a faculty appointment as clinical instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine where I supervised psychology trainees.
I have a long history of conducting psychological research at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Fordham University, NYU School of Medicine, and Bellevue Hospital Center. In 2017 I completed my work as primary investigator for a grant-funded study through the NYU School of Medicine in which we assessed a successful mind-body based group psychotherapy treatment. I believe in the importance of research and have integrated all that has been learned into my psychotherapy practice.
